With history, naturally!

National Park Gates

Guests to the National Park need some orientation pointers during their visit in terms of both locations and topics: Where am I going? What will I find there? What is it about?

The National Park Gates will be the focal points for future visitors. Here, you will be able to learn more about specific topics, as well as the National Park in general, through documentaries and exhibitions. It is where events will take place, ranger tours will start and other deals offered by our partners will be available.

“Use what’s available” was the motto among the citizens who participated in its development. That is why we were able to assess early on where the future National Park gates would be. It will be a while before the National Park gates are officially opened. However, it is highly recommended that you start your visit to our National Park from one of these places. Just click through the picture gallery and decide!

Hunsrückhaus at the Erbeskopf

Alongside Hunsrück House, which is designed as an environmental education centre, the direct vicinity itself offers attractive recreational activities such as the treetop canopy tour or summer toboggan run.

Through our WebCam you can see the Erbeskopf, the highest mountain in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Wildenburg near Kempfeld

The mystical rocky landscape bordering the ruins of the medieval castle is one of the highlights at the National Park. Another tourist attraction here is the wildlife enclosure with lynxes, wolves and wildcats.

The Celtic Park in Otzenhausen

The hillfort, which forms the remains of a Celtic fortification, is itself spectacular. The Celtic Park, with a replica of a Celtic village, is another attraction that you can visit.
